Bird watchers and hikers alike will relish the trails and birding available. Budding archaeologists might be keen to spend some time in the Wagendrift Nature Reserve which has a lookout point over an exposed fossil bed dating back to the Iron Age.
Mooi River to Hilton is a glorious drive if you head off the N3 and onto the Midlands Meander (R103). The R103 joins up with the N3 again at a later stage. The Midlands Meander is a truly excellent make-it-up-as-you-go-along journey. Set aside a couple of days to enjoy leisurely drives, feast on delicious, farm fresh, homemade meals, and explore the many delightful shops, local crafters and hospitalities on offer.
